On Learning Guitar

This is going to be a continuously updated page for links and tips I've learned while playing Guitar.

YouTube Channels

I dont really use particular channels. Sky guitar is where I get classical guitar songs from anyway.

Marin Music center and Rick Beato are entertaining ones but not always the best for for actually leaning guitar.

For theory, I use this one: Music Theory for Guitar. I must admit I am still not brilliant at music theory but have improved much from basically starting from zero a few years ago.

Apps

I use Solo for learning the fretboard and intervals. Its a well built app with beautiful UI although its quite expensive at 20 euro.

Its the only app I use apart from a free tuner app made by LikeTones with no ads here.

Books

I used Fretboard Theory by Desi Serna for learning the fretboard and intervals. It is a succinct book and I found it had a nice way of teaching theory in stages and using loads of real songs to drive home the actual theory being taught. I would recommend it to anyone apart from those just starting out.

Fun Music Websites and Inspiration

Verbasizer (Made By David Bowie in the 90s, its how he wrote lyrics for his songs. It simulates cutting up paper like he did in the 60s and 70s to create new lyrics by randomly combining words and phrases. Its a fun way to generate new ideas for songwriting.)

Quinn Fetrow's Guitar Machines (Good for practicing scales notes and arpeggios.)

Oolimo Guitar Chords Analyzer (Helps analyze and understand chord structures.)

One Motion Chord Player (Cool tool for creating songs.)

Music Theory Fretboard Exercises (Good for practicing intervals on the fretboard.)
